Challenge North Staffs is a project of Citizens Advice Staffordshire North and Stoke on Trent, working to tackle Hate Crime and support victims in North Staffordshire
What is a Hate Incident?
A hate incident is any incident where the victim or any other person thinks that it is motivated by prejudice or hate because of the victim’s actual or perceived:
- Race, Colour, Ethnic Origin, Nationality, National Origin
- Religion, Belief, Faith
- Gender or Sexual Identity
- Sexual Orientation
- Disability
- Mental Health
- Age
Hate incidents can include the following:
- Graffitti
- Antisocial Behaviour
- Assault
- Threats
- Theft
- Abusive Phone Calls
- Disputes
- Harassment
- Verbal Abuse
- Hate Mail
- Damage to property
- Arson

A CNS adviser can advise you on your options for dealing with the incident and support you to speak to authorities such as the police, housing associations, etc.
Please be aware that we are not offering face to face appointments at present due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Workshops
